Wm. L. Dobson & Co.

Wm. L. Dobson & Co., Tailors and Clothiers, 218, Argyle Street.—

Messrs. W. L. Dobson & Co. stand out conspicuously from the great majority of the tailors of Glasgow. Both as tailors and clothiers they carry on every branch of these important businesses on a large scale and are widely noted. They turn out some splendid work in uniforms — naval, military, and yachting, clergymen’s robes, &c.

The firm was established about six years ago in Miller Street, and removed about two years since to the present premises, which consist of a warehouse, fitting rooms, and workshops, where about fifteen workmen and assistants are employed. The ability and enterprise of Mr. Dobson show themselves in a variety of ways in the operations of the firm. He is thoroughly master of his position, conducts classes for teaching the art of cutting,, has written several works on the practical cutting of garments, and has been awarded the certificate of merit and prize three times in succession for essays on practical cutting, given by Drs. Humphreys, of London, and Williamson, of Drury Lane, London. Mr. Dobson is in good repute, with the trade generally, and, modestly speaking, is admitted to be clever in all his undertakings. He labours to good advantage, and is popular both in trade and private circles.
