    In reviewing historically the many important industries of the city of Glasgow and its vicinity, it is particularly interesting to meet with a firm of such old standing as that of Messrs. A. R. Macgregor & Co., Muslin and Calico Printers, Broad Street, Mile End, and to accord to this well-known house that special prominence in these reviews which its high reputation so justly merits. This business dates back in its foundation to about the year 1830, when it was established by the grandfather of the present proprietor. It is a well known and respected firm in the calico printing trade.
