WILLIAM HENRY HILL

    DESCENDED from ancestors honourably associated with public affairs in Glasgow and Lanarkshire for several generations, the senior partner of the legal firm of Hill & Hoggan was born at Barlanark, Shettleston, on 21st March, 1837. He was educated at Milton Abbas School, Blandford, at Lewes, and at Glasgow University. He entered the profession of law, and was enrolled a Notary in 1866. The holder of several appointments, he is clerk, secretary, and legal adviser to various public and other institutions, trusts, and incorporations in Glasgow and the counties of Lanark and Renfrew. Besides Barlanark, where he resides, he is owner of the property of Burley Lawn in Hampshire. He is a member of the Western Club.
