WALTER MACFARLANE

    THE senior partner of the firm of Walter Macfarlane & Co., of the Saracen Foundry, is a nephew and adopted son of the late Walter Macfarlane, and was born at Glasgow in 1853. He was educated at Glasgow Academy and University, has been president of the Institute of Ironfounders of Scotland, and is a Justice of Peace for the County of the City of Glasgow. He is also Chairman of the Liberal Unionist Council of the Partick Division of Lanarkshire. Angling, golf, riding, shooting, and travel occupy his leisure, and by a daughter of the late William Cross, seedsman, Glasgow, he is the father of one son and five daughters.
